Your Ears Will Tingle! (1 Samuel 3:11)

Then the Lord said to Samuel:“Behold, I will do something in Israel at which both ears of everyone who hears it will tingle.
1 Samuel 3:11

Some members of our family love to run up and down the stairs and place an extra heavy footing on the stairs and the upstairs flooring. Of course, this rattles the entire house and everyone laughs knowing that all can hear it AND feel it!

When God spoke to the young boy Samuel, before he was anointed priest and judge of Israel, He announced it with a particular flair. He would bring judgment upon the evil priests of Eli and his sons, for their disobedience and sins. And when He does bring judgment, everyone's ears will tingle or rattle with fear!

Our heavy stomping on the floors may annoy some of us and amuse others, but we all know that it is with lightness of heart. But when God pronounces a judgment, even the heaviest pounding of the floors will pale in comparison to the impact and delivery of His actions. Our ears, our very being, will tingle and rattle.

God can command our attention in many ways. Sometimes He speaks to us through the quiet touch of a hug or embrace of a family member. But other times, He must shake us until we repent and obey. Pray that we remain obedient to His calling and His leading.

Love and respect the Lord; seek His will in your life.
