Talent and Willingness (Exodus 36:1-2)

And Bezalel and Aholiab, and every gifted artisan in whom the Lord has put wisdom and understanding, to know how to do all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, shall do according to all that the Lord has commanded.”  Then Moses called Bezalel and Aholiab, and every gifted artisan in whose heart the Lord had put wisdom, everyone whose heart was stirred, to come and do the work.
Exodus 36:1-2

Do you play a musical instrument or love to paint or dance? Perhaps you like to sew or write? God honors us with gifts from His Holy Spirit. He gives us these gifts to bring glory to Him and to encourage others to seek and love Him. God chose Bezalel and Aholiab to construct the tabernacle and its contents. He set them apart to do His work, not only because of their talents, but because they had a servant’s heart. They were willing to serve.

Who can forget this offering of music by Tony Melendez?  Born without arms, he learned to play the guitar with his feet and offered this song to Pope John Paul II in 1987.

God does not judge us by the quality of our talent but by the sincerity of our offering. If God has blessed you with a particular talent, thank Him and be willing to use it in service to Him.

Aloha blessings!

Love and respect the Lord; seek His will in your life.
