Reflection Questions:

  1. As we reach this fifth week of the Lenten season, how has your experience of abstaining, practicing and/or clothing yourself with Christ been? Has it been a slog like the author writes? Has it been easy?

  2. How do you feel about discipline? When has it served you well?

  3. In what ways does enduring hardship and discipline remind us of God’s love and the way He is forming us into greater Christlikeness?

Spiritual Practice: Journaling

Journaling is a tool that helps us to reflect intentionally, in the midst of our bustling culture, on the happenings of life and God’s presence in our lives in the day to day. There is something significant about the act of writing something down that can be different than simply thinking about it. For some, journaling is an easy and natural practice. For others, it is awkward and difficult to keep consistent.

Whatever your history with journaling is, we invite you to take some time to journal about the questions above or simply reflect on this Lenten season to date. What has God been showing you? May God meet with you as you journal this week.
