Words that Heal (Proverbs 12:25)

I marvel at the power of a kind or well-meaning word. As a physician, I am keenly aware of the importance of a great bedside manner. The firm and reassuring voice of a physician can go a long way to allay the fears and concerns of a patient. Words can encourage and even heal.

There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, but the tongue of the wise promotes health.
Proverbs 12:18

Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad.
Proverbs 12:25

God reminds us about the healing power of a good and choice word, promoting health and even relieving depression. Take the time to come alongside someone who is hurting and give them an encouraging word. Serve God by being the conduit of His love to others.
